“Brainstorming” (aka procrastinating):

Brilliant idea hits:

Realize you only have a week until your review:

Someone touches the model you have been working on for 48 hours straight:

In class after an all-nigher:

Your professor looking at your work:

Finally reaching your bed again:

The life of an architecture student

Submission by shadaud:

The life of an architecture student, come final submission, is similar to that of a woman in labour. However, instead of conjuring out a baby, they give birth to a hoard of A2 presentation boards and an army of models. Granted the time frame is shorter but the contraptions, mood swings, hormonal effects and stress are more or less the same. And rather than creating life, architecture students are probably responsible for global warming with the obscene amount of trees we’re killing.

C’est la vie.

when someone asks what studio is like

architortureschool:

Is it just me or is it increasingly difficult to answer the question: ‘what exactly do you learn in architecture’?

…because knowing how design processes are driven by concepts alien to others not in the field, and a need to defend the integrity of the discipline against the accusatory tone of that question -

It is rather difficult to answer.

This is like Ellen’s dance dare - except it’s not as…exciting.
Talking about dance dares, some of us have been doing it to tutors in studio! -WINKWINKNUDGENUDGE-
…can’t post ours here though. ;D But y’all should link us to yours/submit videos to us if you’ve dance dared in your archi school!

How to stop zoning out (due to lack of sleep):

  • Shout at your dog to stop barking
  • Sing loudly to a song on repeat (preferably a sufferingly catchy song: My song of choice is ‘We Are Young’ by Fun.)
  • Procrastinate (a bit) on Tumblr
  • Check Facebook to find out about the extension for a submission
  • ^ Dance
  • Pour caffeine loaded liquids into your body

How do y’all do it?
